This Privacy Policy describes how Skulnex (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you use the Skulnex School Management Platform and the Skulnex Guardian mobile app. Skulnex helps schools manage day-to-day operations and helps parents and guardians stay informed about their children's school activity.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to users of Skulnex services, including:

  • Guardians who use the Skulnex Guardian app or related guardian access to view school updates for linked students
  • School administrators and staff who use the Skulnex web platform to manage school records and communications
  • Schools that subscribe to Skulnex and provide student and school information through the platform
Information we collect

The information we process depends on how your school uses Skulnex and which features you access. This may include:

Account and authentication data

  • Name, email address, and phone number when provided
  • Login credentials and account identifiers
  • Authentication and session information needed to login securely and maintain your account

Guardian app and guardian profile data

  • Guardian name and contact details
  • Relationship to linked students
  • Notification preferences
  • Push notification tokens when you enable notifications on the Guardian app

Student and school information

  • Student name, class, section, roll number, or student ID
  • Attendance records and related timestamps
  • Notices and announcements shared by the school
  • Homework and diary entries
  • Exam schedules, results, and related academic records
  • School calendar events and schedules
  • Other school-managed records entered by authorized school staff

Technical and usage information

  • Basic device, browser, or app information needed to operate and secure the service
  • Log and usage data related to platform performance, error reporting, and security

Most student and school information is provided by the school administration. Guardians may provide login and contact information when creating or using an account.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

  • Authenticate users and manage secure access to Skulnex
  • Display school, student, and guardian information to authorized users
  • Support attendance tracking, notices, homework, exams, results, and calendar features
  • Send push notifications and other communications you have enabled
  • Provide customer support and respond to account requests
  • Maintain platform security, reliability, and performance
  • Comply with legal obligations when required
Push notifications

If you enable notifications in the Skulnex Guardian app, we may use a device push token to send alerts about attendance, notices, homework, exams, results, calendar events, and other school updates configured by your school.

You can disable notifications through your device or app settings. Disabling notifications does not delete your account or other Skulnex data.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information.

We may share information only when needed to operate Skulnex, including with:

  • Authorized school administrators and staff
  • Guardians linked to a student account
  • Service providers that help us host, secure, deliver notifications, or support the platform, under appropriate safeguards and contractual obligations
  • Authorities when required by applicable law
Children and student data

Skulnex processes student information on behalf of schools. Student data is shown only to authorized guardians and school staff based on school configuration and access controls.

Schools control what information is entered, updated, and shared through the platform. If you have questions about a student record, contact your school administration first.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and role-based permissions.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and as required by the school, account settings, or applicable legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by data type and school policy.

Support, account requests, and data deletion

You may contact us for help with your account, questions about this policy, or to request account or data deletion. Some requests may require identity verification or coordination with your school, because schools manage much of the underlying student and academic data in Skulnex.
